The elastic chain is used in orthonyxia. Its role once applied to the nail is to exert traction thanks to its great elasticity with memory, in order to straighten a volute nail or on lateral plicatures. It is ideal for thin nails or children's nails. The elastic chain is presented in a spool, making its use very economical. It is fixed using cyanoacrylate glue.

Indications for the elastic chain
The elastic chain is perfectly indicated for thin nails or children's nails. It allows treating pathological curvatures such as volute nails and lateral plicature nails.
Some tips for using the elastic chain
- For the start of treatment, ensure that the chain is placed as close to the matrix as possible.
- Do not cut the chain in advance; it will be cut when the second end is glued to ensure good traction.
- When the second side needs to be glued, remember to apply traction to stretch the chain.
- During the first application, closely monitor the progress to know if the traction you applied is not too strong.
- It is recommended to change the chain every 3 weeks initially. Then, when there is improvement, it is possible to extend to four to six weeks for a new application. This will then be done passively (less close to the matrix).
