Types of Busch Carbide Burs

To help you choose your bur according to your needs, here are some details below. Each bur will have a reference with letters and numbers: we draw your attention to these letters:

• Q Cut: The bur has vertical lines This is used for nail treatment, hyperkeratosis, and orthotic modeling. You can choose between the GQSR 'Large' cut or the GQSR 'Medium' cut.
• X Cut: The bur has diagonal, wavy lines This will treat thick nails. In this model, you will have different cuts:
• SGX Cut will be used for very thick and hard nails
• GX Cut will be used for thick and hard nails
• X Cut will be used for thick nails and their contours
• FX Cut is a cut for the delicate treatment of the nail plate.

Some Safety and Hygiene Tips for Busch Burs

• Ensure the bur is properly inserted into the handpiece
• Do not exceed the maximum speed indicated on the packaging
• Follow the hygiene steps: Pre-disinfection; disinfection; sterilization
• Never brush the bur with a copper brush but with a synthetic brush
• During disinfection in an ultrasonic device, ensure not to place the burs freely in the ultrasonic device. Place the burs in a bur holder (such as Steri-Safe)
• Whatever product is used for bur disinfection, always respect the dosage and soaking time stated on the product
